Behind the Scenes: Content Creator Session

Updated: Oct 23, 2025

A smiling artist sits in front of a camera on a tripod. She is surrounded by her tools such as pens pencils a box and a white plaster bust.

Episode 6 of the podcast details a recent content creation session I did with @leahziliak. Here are some tips for your own session:

If you’re planning to work with a social media manager for a focused content creation session- especially one involving interviews, reels, or video content-preparation is everything. The more clarity and organization you bring into the session, the more powerful the outcome. Start by identifying 5-7 key themes or messages you want to communicate over the next month or quarter. These could be based on your coaching niche, upcoming offers, client pain points, or personal insights. Jot down frequently asked questions you get from clients, favorite quotes or frameworks you use often, and stories or metaphors that bring your coaching to life. These raw materials are gold during content planning.

Next, think logistics. Choose your filming location ahead of time and make sure it’s well-lit, quiet, and free from distractions. Have a few outfits ready (solid colors usually work best on camera), and bring props that reflect your brand, such as books you love, tools you use, or even just a favorite coffee mug. If interviews or talking-head reels are part of the plan, practice speaking clearly and concisely about your core ideas (bullet points are your friend here). And don’t forget your energy: hydrate, bring snacks, schedule in breaks, and set an intention for how you want to show up. A little prep goes a long way in turning a 2-hour session into weeks’ worth of intentional, authentic content!
